The Sooners needed big-time help at tight end, and now have brought in their third transfer of the offseason in John Locke.

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Brent Venables said the Oklahoma Sooners aren’t done in the transfer portal.

Former Oklahoma State star linebacker/safety Kendal Daniels committed on Monday, he told On3. A former Freshman All-American and Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year, Daniels totaled 240 tackles, 7.5 Sacks, 13 pass deflections, five interceptions and two fumble recoveries in three seasons with the Cowboys.

The Sooners have picked up 14 commitments from the transfer portal thus far, and there are still some areas where reinforcements are needed.

Coming out of high school, Jones was a highly touted recruit, who 247Sports had ranked as a five-star prospect, No. 2 EDGE and No. 21 player in the country. He could help the Oklahoma defense, which ranked 29th in points allowed per game (21.5) and 19th in total yards given up per game (318.2).

The Oklahoma Sooners added their second special teamer from Kennesaw State, signing former Owls kicker Austin Welch. Welch reunites with former teammates tight end Carson Kent and punter Jacob Ulrich, who signed with the Sooners out of the transfer portal.

Oklahoma State has picked up another commitment in the transfer portal. On Thursday, Jaylon “Trip” White announced his commitment to the Cowboys. White spent the first three seasons of his career at Ole Miss and enters Stillwater with two years of eligibility remaining.
