Tri-Union Seafoods, a subsidiary of food company Thai Union Group, is recalling several tuna products over the risk of botulism. The El Segundo, California, U.S.A.-based company voluntarily recalled select canned tuna products under Genova, Van Camp’s, H-E-B, and Trader Joe’s brands “out of an abundance of caution.”

Tri-Union Seafoods has recalled canned tuna due to potential botulism risk. The recalled tuna was sold under several brand names at major retailers. No illnesses have been reported.

The voluntary recall over botulism fears also covers cans sold at Safeway, Harris Teeter, Costco and other major grocery stores in dozens of states.

Tuna sold in 26 states and in Washington, D.C., was recalled over concerns that it may have been contaminated. The stores affected include Trader Joe’s, Genova, Van Camp’s and H-E-B.
