Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith is a candidate for vacant head coach job of the New York Jets, several national outlets reported Monday, and the Jets have formally requested an interview with Smith.

According to ESPN NFL reporter Brooke Pryor, two NFL teams, the Chicago Bears and New York Jets have reached out to the Pittsburgh Steelers to request permission to interview Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
