The new Jets decision-makers repeatedly expressed their desire to keep good players on their roster on Tuesday. Apparently, Aaron Rodgers did not qualify.

The Jets weren’t interested in providing a behind-the-scenes look at their decision to part ways with quarterback Aaron Rodgers as they took questions Tuesday for the first time since announcing their intent earlier this month.

Neither the coach nor GM offered much of a reason why they chose to move on from the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback, but both expressed a desire to win now, while holding onto the team's younger stars.
