Former President Jimmy Carter is being honored with the pageantry of a funeral in the nation's capital before a second service in his Georgia hometown.

Mourners have been flowing into the Capitol to pay their respects to former President Jimmy Carter. On Thursday, the site of Carter’s funeral will change from the Rotunda to Washington’s National Cathedral.

A national funeral service was held for former President Jimmy Carter at Washington National Cathedral this morning, marking the conclusion of his state funeral. Remembrance ceremonies included his lying in repose in his home state, Georgia, and later lying in state at the U.S. Capitol.
