The Rev. Charles Jacobs of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Hartford is on leave after being accused of stealing money from the parish, church leaders say.

The Archdiocese of Hartford is investigating finances of a parish in the capital city after a priest there is accused of taking money for personal use.

Multiple parishioners have commented on the claims online, saying that they stand with Father Charles Jacobs.

One of the state’s most popular priests was placed on administrative leave because of an investigation.Father Charles Jacobs was accused of stealing money from his parish for personal use.The investigation came as a total shock to the 300 parish families at Holy Trinity Church because of all the work Jacobs has done to help the community.
