Defending champion Elena Rybakina edged out Ons Jabeur in a deciding-set tie-break on Thursday to reach the semi-finals of the Abu Dhabi Open. Kazakh Rybakina missed two match points in the 12th game of the third set but kept her cool to see off the challenge of three-time Grand Slam finalist Jabeur.

Britain's Emma Raducanu is out of the Abu Dhabi Open after losing in straight sets to former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in the first round.

Emma Raducanu suffered a third straight defeat in the opening round of the Abu Dhabi Open. The 22-year-old was beaten 6-3 6-4 by former Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova to add to her losses to Iga Swiatek in the third round of the Australian Open and to Cristina Bucsa in Singapore last week.
